Gerald Finzi (1901-1956)
50th Anniversary Concert

A concert programme celebrating the choral works of composer Gerald Finzi, his contemporaries and composers whom he championed. These works, sacred and secular, are set to words by celebrated British poets including contemporaries of the featured composers. The programme includes:The Twelve; first performed in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford (1965), composed by William Walton the music of whom Finzi admired greatly and finishes with Finzi's magnificent and well loved festival anthem "Lo the full final sacrifice."
